FIDMarseille International Film Festival
July 8th | 13th 2025
36th Edition
FIDMarseille is an International Film Festival which takes place every year at the beginning of July in Marseille. It offers a programme of about one hundred films, made up of fictions and documentaries, short and feature films. Paying close attention to
singular writing and emerging forms, FIDMarseille is a reference festival for the independent cinema of today and tomorrow, recognized internationally for the importance of its talent scouting work. It offers a challenging selection to a wide local, national and international audience. Each year, it attracts professionals from all over the world. The programme is divided into several competitive categories, presenting World or International Premieres. On top of these competitions, each year we organize retrospectives dedicated to living filmmakers, who attend the entire festival in order to share their films and experience with the audience, an out-of-competition selection as well as outdoor screenings.
Located in the centre of Marseille, a cosmopolitan city with a rare vitality, FIDMarseille finds conviviality and meaningful sharing highly important. Debates, meetings and exchanges start in the morning in front of the cinemas, ending late at night, in socializing spaces for festival-goers and open to the city.
FIDLab and FIDCampus
During the festival two events are also organized: FIDLab, an international coproduction platform and FIDCampus, a training residey for international students.
Throughout the year, FIDMarseille organizes many screenings to showcase the films supported during the festival, sets up with various partners, screenings and cartes blanches, develops training activities and educational workshops for wideranging audiences. FID+ (#Lien vers la page FID+) is the name of this extensive educational programme to train viewers, to support films and to promote an independent and creative cinema we believe in. It takes place in Marseille, but also throughout France, in Europe and worldwide.
