We cross borders to knock them down.
The world we live in is dynamic, it travels through time at a speed that is sometimes ungraspable for us. Reality is changing and unpredictable and, for that reason, DocsValència Espai de No Ficció, as a festival that is dedicated to and due to reality, is equally dynamic. It changes, grows and reaches its fifth edition with many novelties.
This 2021 we open our first international call. We want to cross borders and, if possible, knock them down. We look for new narratives and perspectives anywhere in the world to offer them to the Valencian audience. Very soon we’ll announce many more surprises of this new edition. Welcome to DocsValència. Welcome to the Non-Fiction Space.
We conceive documentary film festivals as spaces for intellectual upheaval, as scenarios to think about our world and enjoy discovering it. This is who we are, but only in part. The rest does not fit on one page. We challenge you to discover it at DocsValència Non-Fiction Space.
DocsFòrum
Documentaries transcend the screen, going much further. Non-fiction cinema has the potential to answer many questions, but also to generate new ones; to contribute ideas, attitudes, and, ultimately, to transform our realities. For this reason, the DocsForum becomes an indispensable space for debate, reflection, analysis and passion for non-fiction.

DocsLab
DocsLab is the laboratory for new documentary projects of DocsValència. However, it is not just an incubator for new ideas. Our objectives are to accompany documentary filmmakers during the long journey involved in creating a documentary film, to advise and to be an impetus for the steps that must be taken along that path. It’s, in fact, the kitchen in the back room of DocsValència; that space that is not seen, but in whose stoves the films of the future are prepared.

REGULATIONS
DocsValència Non-Fiction Space will host every year his new edition at the end of October. The competitive and non-competitive sections will present the highlights of local, national and international production, which will compete for the various awards selected by the jury.
We are looking for surprising stories, necessary films, angles and personal perspectives. The Valencian audience is waiting for your films.
The audience applause is the most important. However, there are also prizes granted by DocsValència in 2024:
- Valencian feature film: 2.500,00 €.
- Spanish feature film: 2.000,00 €.
- International feature film: 1.500,00 €.
1. The 5th DocsValència Non-Fiction Space will take place from October 28th to November 6th, 2022.
2. Each participant may submit one or more documentaries.
3. This edition of DocsValència will only program feature films. Only films that are at least 30 minutes in length will be accepted.
4. Documentaries can participate in any of the following competitive categories:
▪ Valencian feature film.
▪ Spanish feature film.
▪ International feature film.
5. We accept any documentary genre, all themes and narratives.
