Il Festival CinemAmbiente nasce a Torino nel 1998 con l’obiettivo di presentare i migliori film e documentari ambientali a livello internazionale e contribuire, con attività che si sviluppano nel corso di tutto l’anno, alla promozione del cinema e della cultura ambientale.
Fondato da Gaetano Capizzi, il Festival è organizzato dall’Associazione CinemAmbiente con il Museo Nazionale del Cinema. È membro fondatore del Green Film Network, associazione che riunisce le più importanti rassegne cinematografiche internazionali a tema ambientale.
Negli anni il Festival è costantemente cresciuto, confermandosi come uno dei più importanti appuntamenti cinematografici ambientali del panorama internazionale.
Presenta annualmente circa 100 film, distribuiti nelle sezioni competitive internazionali e nazionali, e nelle sezioni Eventi speciali e CinemAmbiente Junior, dedicata ai ragazzi. CinemAmbiente propone inoltre dibattiti, incontri con gli autori, mostre, presentazioni di libri, spettacoli teatrali, concerti ed eventi sul territorio.


Cinemambiente è un manifestazione a emissioni zero, in quanto la CO2 prodotta viene compensata tramite la piattaforma CO2 reduction.
E’ plastic free e utilizza solo materiali riciclati e certificati Ecolabel e FSC.

Awards & Prizes

Qualified juries, each composed of recognized figures in cinema, culture, and environmental activism appointed by the Festival’s Direction, will assign official prizes.

Documentary Competition € 5.000

From the Earth to the Earth € 3.000
All movies will be considered for the following award
– Environment and Society Award (no money)

For movies about social impact of the environmental crisis
Common Home Award (no money)

For movies about Ecological Conversion
Star of Mole Antonelliana Award
Award for Lifetime Achievement
Green Ciak Award
For an Italian actor or actress for their commitment of environmental
– “La Ghianda di Cinemambiente” Literary Award
Other Prizes or Special mentions will be announced.

Rules & Terms.

The official Festival registration form must be filled online on FilmFreeway website. 

The Festival’s competitions include films inspired to environmental issues produced after January 1st, 2023.The Festival’s Direction Board will select films admitted at 27th CinemAmbiente to its final judgement.
The authors admitted to the competitions will be informed within May 16th, 2024.
The Festival require the Italian premiere of the film in competitions.
For sections out of competition there is no limitation.
Translations
Foreign films will be screened in their original version with Italian subtitles.
All Festival documents will be published in Italian and English.
Hospitality
The Festival will encourage the participation of film directors and other guests (journalists, professionals, film festival’s representatives).
Agreement
Application for entry to the Festival constitutes unconditional agreement to all the regulations here-in. CinemAmbiente Direction Board reserves the right to make decisions on matters not specified within the regulation.


CinemAmbiente is part of the Green Film Network. (GFN) is an international organization of film festivals that focus on environmental issues. The GFN promotes exchange, communication and collaboration regarding environmental issues via film. Its goal is to create a network that raises and promotes environmental awareness.
