In June 2022, as the director works on the narrative of his meeting with Patrizia Cavalli, the time spent together and the glances first attentive and then emptied by illness, the poetess dies. Few images remain of the author as he knew her: the only possible gesture is telling through metaphor, with archival images and a text that, between declaration of love and last goodbye, alternates with poems recited by the author.

Director’s note:

“In 2018, I attended a reading by Patrizia Cavalli. I knew her works but it was the first time I heard them with the poet’s voice and original rhythm. She had recently survived a brain tumor but her decline into oblivion had begun. Between one poem and another; I felt something more inside me: that woman with the disheveled white hair, her shoulders hunched forward, defenseless, would lose her train of thought and yet, without finding it again, she would move on to a new poem. How could oblivion and the sublime overlap? After the reading she asked me to accompany her home. That was the beginning of the journey that has led me to this film.”
