(b. Tehran, 1980) is a filmmaker and Senior Lecturer in Film and Television at University of Bristol, United Kingdom. He has a background in documentary television production at BBC and produced a number of short films including Take Cover (2009), Baba (2011), Baba 1989 (2016) and How do you see me? (2017). His films have screened at festivals including Encounters Film Festival (UK), Blowup (Brazil), New Horizons International Film Festival (Poland), Foyle Film Festival (Ireland), Quadrangle (Kent, UK) and dokumentArt (Germany). In 2012, he produced and directed the one-hour archive-based broadcast documentary Health Before the Health Service: a Medical Revolution for BBC4 (2012). His more recent work includes Dear Home Office (2021), a collaborative film with refugees and asylum seekers scrutinizing the UK asylum system and Pouring Water on Troubled Oil (2023), about the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas’s journey through Iran in 1951.
