L’ Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, il principale evento cinematografico internazionale del paese, \u00e8 stato cancellato a causa delle pressioni politiche suscitate da una tempesta di polemiche scatenata dalla presenza\u00a0 nella programmazione di un documentario ispirato ai fatti accaduti dopo il tentato golpe del 2016. Il documentario, intitolato “Decreto” e diretto da Nejla Demirci, tratta della situazione di un medico e di un’insegnante licenziati dai loro impieghi governativi in seguito allo stato di emergenza dichiarato dopo un fallito tentativo di colpo di stato avvenuto il 15 luglio 2016 in Turchia. In quel giorno, un gruppo di soldati turchi, utilizzando carri armati, aerei da guerra ed elicotteri, ha tentato di rovesciare il presidente turco Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Erdogan ha immediatamente accusato il suo ex alleato, il religioso musulmano residente negli Stati Uniti Fethullah Gulen, attualmente in esilio negli Stati Uniti e che ha respinto queste accuse. The event is comprised of four different platforms: Fiction Pitching, Fiction Work in Progress, Documentary Work in Progress and the S\u00fcmer Tilma\u00e7 Antalya Film Support Fund. The Antalya Film Forum has played a key role in the production journey and creation of many Turkish films, including national and international festival award-winners. The Antalya Film Forum<\/strong>, the co-production market and project development arm of the \u00a0<\/strong>Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival<\/strong>\u2014an event sponsored by the Turkish Ministry of Culture & Tourism<\/strong>\u2014has announced its line-up of Pitching for Feature Films in Development, S\u00fcmer Tilma\u00e7 Antalya Film Support Fund Pitching Platform<\/strong> and Series\/Short Series Pitching Platform<\/strong> projects. The seventh edition of the Antalya Film Forum<\/strong> will be held in October<\/strong>\u00a0and hosted by Muhittin B\u00f6cek<\/strong>, the Mayor of Antalya, with all events taking place online. Set up with a dual mission, the Forum<\/strong> seeks to bring together independent directors, producers and screenwriters from Turkey with professionals from the international film industry, and to create funding for new and emerging film projects. As one of the strands of the Forum<\/strong>, the S\u00fcmer Tilma\u00e7 Antalya Film Support Fund Pitching Platform<\/strong> was inaugurated to support each year a single Turkish feature film planning to shoot at least two-thirds of its content in the city of Antalya, on the proviso that the same proportion of Antalya scenes is retained in its final cut. 15 <\/strong>submissions were received for the Fund this year, from which a shortlist of three projects <\/strong>has been drawn up by a selection committee comprising: the director, Tevfik Ba\u015fer<\/strong>; the academic and playwright, Ye\u015fim G\u00f6k\u00e7e<\/strong>; and the film critic, Burak G\u00f6ral<\/strong>. The three selected projects are: Apollon by Day, Athena by Night<\/em><\/strong> (G\u00fcnd\u00fcz Apollon, Gece Athena<\/em>), written and directed by Emine Y\u0131ld\u0131r\u0131m<\/strong> with Dilde Mahalli <\/strong>also on board as producer; Before the Dark<\/em><\/strong> (Karanl\u0131ktan \u00d6nce<\/em>), written and directed by \u0130smet Akg\u00fcn<\/strong> and produced by Okan \u00dczey<\/strong>; and Summer Dreams<\/em><\/strong> (Yaz D\u00fc\u015fleri<\/em>), written and directed by Ayta\u00e7 Uzun<\/strong> with Nermin Aytekin<\/strong> producing.
