The Festival was founded in Turin in 1998 to create an international <\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>showcase for outstanding films and documentaries during the Festival itself and to hold events promoting cinema and environmental culture throughout the year.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

Founded by<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0Gaetano Capizzi<\/span><\/strong>, the Festival is organized jointly by the CinemAmbiente Association and the National Museum of Cinema, Turin. The Festival is a founding member of the\u00a0Green Film Network, an association of major international film festivals.
\n
\nThe Festival has gone from strength to strength to become a key date on the international calendar of environmental film festivals.<\/strong>
\n<\/strong>Each year about 100 films are presented in various sections of the Festival program: International and National Competition, Special Events, and CinemAmbiente Junior addressed especially to young people.
\n
\nThe Festival\u2019s vast program includes debates, meeting with the authors, exhibitions, book presentations, stage performances, concerts, and other events in Turin and beyond.
\n
\nTangent to the Festival are two long-running projects that promote environmental cinema in Italy:
\n– CinemAmbiente Tour<\/strong> is a non-commercial distribution channel for selected films presented at the Festival. The CinemAmbiente Association provides for the distribution in Italy of environmental films and documentaries.
\n– CinemAmbiente TV – Films for environmental education<\/strong>. This one-of-a-kind initiative provides for the distribution of environmental films to schools. Via a dedicated internet website, educators can access the film archives and select from among hundreds of films and documentaries categorized by subject and audience age.
\nCinemAmbiente is 100% eco-compatible<\/strong>. The Festival is a zero emission event: the CO2 produced is compensated by the Asja-CO2 protocol.
\nThe Festival is also plastic free since only recycled, ecolabeled, and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified products are used.
\nFinally, the Festival supports the Agenda 21 objectives to purchase sustainable materials.

The Festival\u2019s competitions include films inspired to environmental issues produced after January 1st, 2023.<\/span><\/span>The Festival\u2019s Direction Board will select films admitted at 27th CinemAmbiente to its final judgement.
\nThe authors admitted to the competitions will be informed within May 16th, 2024.
\nThe Festival require the Italian premiere of the film in competitions.
\nFor sections out of competition there is no limitation.
\n<\/span><\/span>Translations<\/strong>
\nForeign films will be screened in their original version with Italian subtitles.
\nAll Festival documents will be published in Italian and English.
\nHospitality<\/strong>
\nThe Festival will encourage the participation of film directors and other guests (journalists, professionals, film festival\u2019s representatives).
\nAgreement<\/strong>
\nApplication for entry to the Festival constitutes unconditional agreement to all the regulations here-in. CinemAmbiente Direction Board reserves the right to make decisions on matters not specified within the regulation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

CinemAmbiente is part of The Green Film Network<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span> (GFN) is an international organization of film festivals that focus on environmental issues. The GFN promotes exchange, communication and collaboration regarding environmental issues via film. Its goal is to create a network that raises and promotes environmental awareness.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
