Nato a Teheran nel 1980, è un regista e docente senior di cinema e televisione presso l’Università di Bristol, nel Regno Unito. Ha un passato nella produzione televisiva di documentari presso la BBC e ha prodotto diversi cortometraggi, tra cui Take Cover (2009), Baba (2011), Baba 1989 (2016) e How do you see me? (2017). I suoi film sono stati proiettati in festival come Encounters Film Festival (Regno Unito), Blowup (Brasile), New Horizons International Film Festival (Polonia), Foyle Film Festival (Irlanda), Quadrangle (Kent, Regno Unito) e dokumentArt (Germania). Nel 2012 ha prodotto e diretto il documentario d’archivio Health Before the Health Service: a Medical Revolution per BBC4 (2012). Tra i suoi lavori più recenti figurano Dear Home Office (2021), un film collaborativo con rifugiati e richiedenti asilo che analizza il sistema di asilo del Regno Unito e Pouring Water on Troubled Oil (2023), sul viaggio del poeta gallese Dylan Thomas attraverso l’Iran nel 1951.
